Our school provides opportunities for students, staff and parents to know and celebrate their Catholic faith. This is done through the religious life of our school. Members of our community experience a rich liturgical and prayer life, celebration of the Sacraments, faith formation, social outreach activities, and opportunities to share faith with each other and with youth from other schools in the Archdiocese.
At Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Primary School North Strathfield (OLA), students are guided into a deeper and more intimate relationship with God through their exploration of the sacred scriptures, their participation in personal and communal prayer and their living out of Catholic social and moral teachings.
Some examples of the many rich faith experiences at OLA include:
- Whole school Masses and prayer services to celebrate significant feast days and numerous significant events in our school calendar
- Whole school prayer – The Angelus (daily), and at our weekly assembly
- Daily class prayer and meditation
- Sunday Family Mass for each grade throughout the year followed by morning tea in the parish hall
- Pope Francis Award Program available to Year 6 involving faith formation sessions and community service.
- SPaR (Stop, Pray and Reflect) experiences with classes.
